untitled-shoot-7239-EditMarquette Michigan-During the winter months everything slows down around town, tourism drops and families spend more time inside rather than trying to combat the cold. But a true Yooper will bundle up and head out to face nature, even when she may not be at her finest. If you ask a local what they like to do in the winter you will get many answers like hockey and snowmobiling. But one that you will hear more often than not is spending a day on the Mountain skiing or snowboarding.

Marquette Mountain is a place to carve up the slopes for beginners and experts alike. It is located on Highway 553 and is just a short drive out of town. The mountains “regular season” is December 19th– March 13th and the “post season” starts the 14th of March but varies greatly depending on the weather.

At Marquette Mountain there are many different runs for every skillset, even those who have zero skiing or snowboarding experience. Currently there are 13 trails on the mountain. The trails are rated by color depending on their difficulty. There are also 3 different ski lifts spaced out so you can get back to the top quicker with less waiting time.

Don’t have equipment? No worries! You can rent out equipment at the mountain for your own personal use. A trip out to the slopes is a perfect way to spend the day whether you’re just visiting or a local looking to kill some time. Like most mountains, Marquette Mountain also offers deals on car loads of people depending on the day, which is a great way to get a nice bang for your buck.

You can also find other information on Marquette Mountain like pricing information, hours of operation or conditions of the hill by visiting their site at www.marquettemountain.com.
