Marquette, MI – Marquette antiques and decorating enthusiasts have reason to celebrate this month. On May 2, area antique dealers Richard and Pat Hennessy and Steve LaForais opened a second location for their popular shop, Birdcage Antiques and Eclectic Décor. Their new, high-end antique store shares space with Karen Larson Interior Design at 1508 W. Washington St.

The three partners carefully curate Birdcage Antiques’ inventory to appeal to the discerning collector and decorator. “We have antique, vintage, and new furniture, art, and home décor, which I’ve sourced from all over. Right now I have several very nice European pieces in stock that are unique in the area,” says Pat Hennessy. “People have compared the shop to a gallery because we take care to choose high quality pieces and arrange them beautifully.”

Between them, the Hennessys and LaForais share a passion for antiques and over 80 years’ experience in the industry. In addition to the Birdcage stores, they own Lowenstein’s Antique Marketplace in downtown Negaunee and coordinate additional antiques-related events throughout the year. The partners also buy quality antiques and are available for in-home appointments.

Birdcage Antiques and Décor is open 11-5 Monday through Saturday. An open
house is planned for later in the summer. For more information, call 906-226-9962.
