Marquette, MI- Saturday October 25th was national Make a Difference Day. This event started in the 1990s and was created to celebrate neighbors helping neighbors across the United States. Every year Marquette County participates in this event by helping the elderly and disabled do yard work and household cleaning tasks.

The NMU volunteer center is the sole organizer for Make a Difference Day in Marquette. An average of over 1400 volunteers get together every year and help others in Marquette, Negaunee, Ishpeming, Harvey, and Gwinn.  Volunteers are made up of NMU student organizations, student halls, and other organizations throughout the community.

This is an event that continues to grow every year and helps a lot of people throughout the community. If you are interested in joining this event next year or are in need of the Make a Difference Day services forms can be found on the NMU volunteer center page.
