Marquette, MI- The students of Northern Michigan University are always creating beautiful and diverse pieces of art to display in the Student Art Gallery located on Northern’s campus in the University Center. The gallery has a constant flow of unique shows with local art made by students. This month’s show titled Environments That Alter Us: Engaging the Diverse Landscape feels particularly festive for the season.

Students from all different majors and focuses enter their pieces to be seen in the gallery. The diverse array of student focus creates an exceptional show with a variety of different artistic mediums. In the Student Art Gallery you will find an assortment of photographs, paintings and sculptures all very suiting to the environmental theme.

Pieces in the show are inspired by the physical beauty of our region and look at the intersection of intellectual landscape and the narratives we use to tell our stories. All work in the show has been carefully selected and displayed for the community and is an excellent representation of the work that NMU students create.

Environments That Alter Us: Engaging the Diverse Landscape will be on display in the Student Art Gallery until October 31st and is free to the public. Northern students are capable of creating some truly beautiful and meaningful art work and graciously display it for the community to see. The current show is a sight to be enjoyed by all.
